Well what a weird year we’re all having! As with most people, my year went really sideways in late February / early March and nearly everything I had lined up for the year was either cancelled or postponed indefinitely.

One of the things that I was looking forward to was the Margaret River Region Open Studios, held usually in May each year, due to the pandemic and subsequent restrictions we were unable to hold the event at that time. With Western Australia having zero community transmission for many months now and restrictions being eased off, the Open Studios event is back on! So if you are going to be in the South West of Western Australia between the 12th and 27th of September, be sure to come say hello on the days that I’m open, come check out some of my artwork in person instead of online.

This year I’ve cleaned out my garage and turned it into a studio, that in itself was a huge amount of work, we’ve put up walls, laid carpet tiles, built a few pieces of furniture from various recycled materials and made it very comfortable. My mother, who is a pretty amazing artist based in Perth, has been coming down regularly to visit Bec and the kids (and me I think), during her visits she has also been producing some art pieces of her own, so we’re sharing my space and both taking part in Open Studios.

All the details you need can be found either on the main page of the Margaret River Region Open Studios website, including a downloadable event guide & downloadable A4 sheet saying who is open and when… or you can find my profile page here.

I’m looking forward to meeting many of you, please introduce yourself and feel free to ask any questions.
