Description

Title: Hancock Gorge Falls

Photographer: Paul Pichugin

Location: Hancock Gorge, Karijni National Park, Western Australia

Caption: Karijni National Park is an area in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, it is full of deep gorges, waterfalls and freezing swimming holes. Most areas are accessible to the general public, but some areas, like the one in this photo, are “class 6” and require a ropes qualified guide and permission from the rangers. I spent a few days exploring the class 6 areas, scrambling through rocks, jumping off waterfalls and abseiling down cliff faces to get photos of these places.

This photograph is from the class 6 area of Hancock Gorge, just below Kermit’s Pool, shortly after this photo was taken we rock climbed up the face of the gorge and then into Kermit’s Pool.
