Canola on a hill
6 September, 2011

Hey All, I was discussing Canola field photos with fellow landscape photographer (and source of inspiration) Adrian Wayte, when I realised that I hadn't actually blogged my all time favourite image from last year! So here it is! This was taken with my old Canon 5DmkII and a 24-70mm f2.8L lens, if I recall right I used a grad filter and stitched it in photoshop and that was about it, maybe some minor levels adjustment and sharpening. The area...

Canola Fields New Norcia
6 September, 2011

Hey All, Just a quick post with my Canola fields shot from our quick trip up to New Norcia last week, we were very lucky to get a brief break in the rain just at sunset and this was the shot I got. It's the first panoramic I've put together with my new camera gear after having it all stolen when our house was broken into. This was taken with Canon 5DmkII and a Carl Zeiss 50mm f1.4 absolutely love this lens, it's crystal clear and has amazing...

News and a Cambodia Update
17 August, 2011

Hey All, As most of you would know, I have been planning a trip to Cambodia in September. I'm going to be working for 2 weeks in an orphanage that is run by Awareness Cambodia, as well as  a clinic / hospital. I'm really looking forward to the trip. I've just finished all my immunisation and shots, all I've got left to do now is my Malaria medication, which starts 2 weeks before I leave and finishes 2 weeks after I get back. The...

17 August, 2011

Hey All, I'll be posting up a few blog posts over the next couple of days, mostly from my trip down to the Stirling Ranges and then the subsequent trip home via Pingrup, Lake Grace, Kulin and York. Then I'll have a few images from my recent weekend in Busselton :-) I'm going to be trying to put up a couple of blog posts a week from now on, we'll see how e go with that! Here are a couple of images from the night trip down to the Stirling...

Stirling Ranges
17 August, 2011

Hey All, I know it's been a while since my last blog post, I've been so busy that I've neglected my blog! The week before last I made a quick trip down to the Stirling Ranges to see if I could get some photos of the snow.. well after climbing Bluff Knoll, I got hailed on and sleeted on, I saw snow, but couldn't get any photos of it as it was melting as soon as it hit the ground. I left the Bluff when the weather got really nasty. Here is a...

Perth's Lunar Eclipse
16 June, 2011

Hey All, We were very lucky to be able to witness a full lunar eclipse in the early hours of the morning today.. or we would have been, had there not been a huge amount of cloud and rain in the way! I had a look at the weather radar and it looked like I might get a break in the clouds if I headed up towards Cervantes.. so I filled the car up, loaded up my gear and went for a drive.. hoping for the best. I got lucky, I found a decent vantage...

Nannup Skies
16 June, 2011

Hey All, Last week Bec and I were travelling from Balingup to Busselton and I just had to pull over to get a photo of the sky, it was an amazingly clear night and the moon had already set. Other than being completely frozen, it was an amazing experience!   Regards Paul...

Victorian Trip
16 May, 2011

Hey All, Bec and I really needed a break away for a couple of days as we've been non-stop since the start of the year, some cheap flights came up so we headed on over to Melbourne. I really wanted to re-photograph a few areas of the Otways so we ended up staying in Apollo Bay for a few days before heading into Melbourne.. I've got to say, as much as I love WA and Perth.. I really miss the deep greens you get in the Otways and over east. We had...

Anzac Day 2011
25 April, 2011

Hey All, A few of us made our way into Kings Park, here in Perth,  in the early hours of the morning today. We joined over 40,000 other people to pay our respects to those who have sacrificed everything for our freedom and way of life. It is a bit of a surreal feeling to be amongst a crowd of so many.. and have them all completely silent. Here are some of the photos from this...
