Perth Bush fires
7 February, 2011

Hi All, What a day it has been.. such a range of emotions! As most of you would know, I went out early this morning / late last night and took photos of the Perth Hills Bush fires around Toodyay Road. Well that seems to have set off a media storm, so far I have been contacted by WA Today, The West Australian, Perth Now, News.com.au, The Adelaide Advertiser, 6PR, ABC News and a heap of other media companies, looking for access to  the photos. I've...

Perth Hills Bushfire
6 February, 2011

Hey All, I was up doing some work last night, editing through a few of the portrait sessions I've done recently when I got notified both on facebook and twitter that there was a fairly major bushfire underway in the Perth Hills. I checked the FESA website for more details and discovered that it was much more than I initially thought! Over one hundred and fifty career and volunteer Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Service and Department of...

North Beach Waves
30 January, 2011

Hey All, Well Tropical Cyclone Bianca changed her mind at the last minute and decided to give Perth a miss, just faded out to a bit of wet weather and some super high tides. Andrew Semark and I headed down to North Beach this afternoon with the goal of getting some photos of the incoming storm.. that turned out to just be a bit of rain, wind and some huge, choppy waves. I decided to try and get something a bit different and shoot the waves...

Perth Storm January
30 January, 2011

Hey All, A few of us headed out to see if we could get some photos of the storm coming through Perth, part of the edge of cyclone Bianca. We got a few pretty decent shots, over all the storm was pretty uneventful though, a fairly strong front came through Hillarys Boatharbor and then a bit of rain and lightning.. not a whole heap happening after it passed though. So we went exploring further down the coast and ended up getting...

Lightning over Perth Hills
28 January, 2011

Hey All, Well late last night I ducked out run a few errands and I spotted some lightning on the horizon.. so I quickly went home and checked the lightning tracker and found that we had a decent sized storm heading fairly close to us! I grabbed my gear and headed out intially to Bullsbrook where I was welcomed by some of the best lightning I've seen in a very long time! I captured 8 pretty decent lightning bolts in this spot before the storm had...

Sunset at North Beach
9 July, 2010

Hey There, we were expecting some more wild weather last night and today, so I grabbed the camera and headed out in the hopes of capturing some great shots of it. Bec & I headed straight to the coast as there had been reports of some waterspouts in the ocean, which would be really cool to capture. Unfortunately we didn't see any of those, but we did watch a magnificent sunset though  and I got a couple of great shots and some great video footage...

Perth's Lunar Eclipse
26 June, 2010

Hey There, for those of us who were watching the skies on this very chilly night (6 degrees) we were lucky enough to get to watch a lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth so that the earth blocks the sun's light from hitting the moon, basically leaving a huge shadow on an otherwise full moon. I got my camera out and took a few shots of the sequence, it was only a partial eclipse tonight, so part of the moon...

Thailand Photos
14 May, 2010

We arrived home from Thailand late Monday night, we had an absolute blast in Phuket, spent the last couple of days just riding around on a scooter, exploring and taking photos! I'll be adding some more little stories and thoughts on things that happened and what we experienced while being there, but for the mean time, I'm just adding a post with a lot of photos from our trip. Most of them are available to buy as prints through RedBubble, or you can...

Phuket
2 May, 2010

Hey There, Bec and I left Perth bound for Singapore and ultimately Phuket in the very early hours of Thursday morning, it was a chilly 14 degrees celcius. We flew through the night, landing in Singapore Airport at around 5.30am, headed through customs to collect our bags and then straight back through customs after checking into our next flight. Next on the agenda was food, we hunted down some breakfast at the Burger King and tried some food neither...
