Number 22 - Melbourne Docklands Altered Landscape
2 December, 2011

I'm going through some of my old photos at the moment and processing them again in the methods that I've learned in the last 5-6 years. This image was taken in 2006, I really liked the image at the time and even managed to sell quite a few.. but I've revisited it just tonight and I much prefer the newer edit. There is something that I'm discovering, or really, re-discovering, thanks in part to Christian Fletcher, and that is there is beauty to...

Mullewa Photo Book
30 November, 2011

Just on 2 years ago I was asked to do some photography workshops in Mullewa, Western Australia.. it is a rural farming town about an hours drive inland from Geraldton. Rachel Mackenzie, the community development officer, was putting together a project called Thicker than water, a book about Mullewa, created largely by the people in Mullewa. The workshops were a lot of fun, other than the theory sessions, we got out on the farms for some practical...

Australian Night Skies
29 November, 2011

For the last 2 years I've been doing some night time photography, mostly trying to capture the night skies in all their glory here in Australia. In Western Australia we have a relatively small and very spread out population compared to the eastern states and as such we get a lot less light polution in our night skies. They are incredible! I'm going to be working on a project to capture these skies in a much better way over the next 12 months, I'm...

Trigg Beach Sunset
3 November, 2011

Hey All, I headed down to Trigg Beach this evening to get some fresh sunset photos, Trigg Beach is in a constant state of change, one month there is a heap of sand, other months there is nothing but Rocks. The beach looks like it is about half way through it's cycle of losing all it's sand. The boat ramp is fully exposed and Trigg Island is almost actually an Island again! Anyway, I had the entire beach nearly to myself, there was just one...

Cambodian Rice Paddies
28 October, 2011

Hey All, I know it's been a few weeks since my last post.. it's been incredibly busy here! I've been preparing for the launch of Blaque Media, the commercial division of my photography business. The website is nearly complete, I've just got to add some more photos and do some writing for it. Anyway, onto the more interesting stuff.. photos! While in Cambodia I volunteered in an orphanage, the orphanage is in the Kompong Speu province and is...

People of Cambodia
10 October, 2011

Hey All, I thought I'd add some of the people images I created while in Cambodia! These 3 young boys were out in remote Cambodia, looking after some cattle. I photographed them on our return trip from a village where the medical team I was travelling with saw 187 patients in 3 hours! As part of the medical team, we gave out prescription glasses to the villagers. They would try several pairs until they could see decently through...

Ta Prohm Temple - Cambodia
4 October, 2011

Hey All, I know I've been a bit quiet over the last 2 weeks.. it's been incredibly busy. Cambodia is an amazing country and I've already started planning my next 2 trips back there! I'll have some more photos and videos from the trip on my blog shortly, I'll also be posting up some thoughts and stories from my work with Awareness Cambodia, the orphanage and the medical clinics that they run. In the mean time here are some images from the end of my...

Cambodia - first impressions
18 September, 2011

Hey All, On Friday I made the epic journey through Singapore and across to Phnom Penh. As we were approaching Phnom Penh the clouds cleared a little and we were able to see an overview of the area. Most of the low lying areas outside the main city are currently experiencing flooding as we've come during their wet season. We've had a very full on day and a half already, yesterday we visited the Killing Fields and S21. Both were very intense and...
