What an amazing week it has been!

Late Monday night I went storm chasing and got some good tips on where to go from my friends at The WA Weather Group, I ended up at Mindarie taking photos for several hours. Afterwards I headed in to the city to see if I could get any shots of the storm coming across the city, as many of you would know, I managed to get a couple of amazing photos that I layered over each other in Photoshop.. that image has now gone viral on email, facebook, google+ and even twitter. I’ve had over 10,000 new visitors to my website this month, which is actually more traffic than I’ve had in the last 3 months entirely!

On Tuesday I spoke to a reporter from The West and they featured my photo as editors pick of the day and then featured it on page 7 of The West:

I have to say, I was really stoked and a bit surprised at the response this photo has generated! The photo was raved about on the radio station 94.5 by the breakfast crew The Bunch. Wednesday evening I got a message from them asking if they could put the photo on their facebook group, I said not a problem and then we had a chat on Thursday morning on their show.. definitely something outside my usual comfort zone!

I’m still trying to keep up with the orders and emails for orders that have come in! Prints are available through RedBubble: http://www.redbubble.com/people/paulmp/works/8166977-perth-lightning-storm

I’m also in the process of getting my gallery & online ordering system in place, it is still being refined, but the ordering is working for the image:

To top it all off, I got an email from Timothy Ferriss, best-selling author of The Four Hour Work Week and The Four Hour Body.. both brilliant books that I highly recommend, he is giving me an Amazon Kindle Fire! All because I promoted his upcoming book, The Four Hour Chef..  Pretty stoked about that :)

I want to thank everyone for their support, it’s been a great week, I hope everyone else has had as good a week as I have!

Regards
