Well Bec and I headed up to Geraldton on the weekend, we drove up there on friday, it’s roughly 4.5 hours drive north from Perth. Saturday afternoon we had a wedding to photograph, it was an awesome day, I was nervous in the morning as it was completely overcast and threatening to rain, it cleared up mostly by the 2pm wedding ceremony and by the time we were ready for our location shoot, it was absolutely perfect.
Anyway, we spent sunday with Bec’s family and then drove home via the wildflower fields and canola fields and just arrived home about an hour ago! I’ll be working on the slideshow for Tash & Michael tomorrow, but I just *had* to put up 2 of my favorite shots straight away! Check them out and be looking for the slideshow tomorrow night:
Well I’ve been featured in the Jetstar Photo Comp, which means I automatically get a basic prize, here’s to hoping that I get further than just featured :-D
We fly out to Brisbane on the redeye late tonight :-D
As you can no doubt tell, my website is undergoing a rebuild at the moment, so some of the content is here, other content isn’t.. please be patient and I’ll put up another notice when it’s complete and ready to be viewed :-)
In the mean time, you may want to check out my new landscape and fine art print website, I’m still updating some of it, but the structure is there, ready for viewing: http://paulmp.com.au
Well the first amazing news is that I have not only been featured in the next edition of Photo Review Australia magazine, I have also had my work Approaching Storm used as the cover image of the magazine!
Approaching Storm - Fine Art Photography by Paul Pichugin
I’ll post up a PDF version of the interview as soon as I get a copy for myself :-)
In other news, I’ve got a few trips planned over the coming months, this weekend we’re heading to Dunesborough.. it’s near Busselton, Western Australia. Next weekend I’m in Adelaide, South Australia. I’m planning a trip away for a weekend in July, but I haven’t decided where yet. In August I have 2 trips to Brisbane and a trip to Geraldton planned already, with various other trips around the place in between.
Then in December, Bec and I are planning to go to Phuket for our wedding anniversary.. I’m hoping to take lots of awesome diving / snorkeling photos and some landscape photos of the amazing islands around Thailand!
Website Upgrade.. I’ve got a new wordpress theme nearly completed in Photoshop, it will be getting coded up in the next couple of days and the website should look a whole heap better with in the next week.. adding to the site will be an online shopping cart system so that you can buy cards, prints, framed prints etc all directly from my landscape photography website! My landscape and fine art prints website is: http://www.paulmp.com.au
For now if you want to browse through all of my Fine Art Photography, please go to my RedBubble site, where you can buy prints as well. http://www.redbubble.com/people/paulmp/art
That’s all for now, I’ll have further updates and new photos as I take them!
I shot an amazing wedding today! A lovely couple called Mel and Josh, Mel contacted me through my website after her sister checked out my work through my myspace page.. which is currently in much neglect! I arrived at 12:30pm to meet with girls and take photos of them all getting ready, I’m really happy with the shots I got, they were very organised and relaxed, which makes my job so much easier :)
The wedding was held in the Latrobe Street Chapel, a nice little chapel at Paddington, it’s laid out very nicely and run by some nice people. We moved on to Roma Street Parklands for the formal location shoot, they were all very easy to work with and I got some gerat shots. We moved on to Indooroopilly Golf Club for a few more photos and the reception.
Over all it was a wonderful day, I really enjoyed taking their photos and meeting up with them :)
Anyway, here’s their slideshow, they asked me to put The Moment by Anthony Warlow as the backing track.. my hardest job so far was picking which photos to use in the slideshow, I ended up with over 100 photos just in the slideshow! It may take a minute or 2 to start, because it’s downloading all the photos and music first.
Thank you very much Mel & Josh for having me at your wedding, I really enjoyed myself and I’m really happy with the photos I got. It was great to finally meet you guys and I’m looking forward to doing a portrait shoot with you both later on this year! Hope you have a wonderful time on your honeymoon.. and I have to admit, I’m really jealous.. I wish I was going to the Maldives too.. *sigh*
Family and friends, feel free to leave comments here for Mel and Josh!
Here’s the slideshow from Ferron and Tia’s wedding, sorry it took so long to get up and running.. have to love technology hey!
Thank you Ferron & Tia for having me photograph your wedding, it was a great day and I was glad to be a part of it :) Again, my apologies for the delay.
Sorry for the delays between posts lately.. it has been insanely busy. I’ve got 2 weddings this weekend due to a change of date on one of the weddings.. not something I usually like to do. Today I have a wedding on the Gold Coast, with a photoshoot around either Sanctuary Cove or somewhere on the Spit at the Gold Coast, should be some awesome shots to be had.
After the wedding tonight we fly out of the Gold Coast down to Sydney for one of my mate’s weddings, of course he asked me to do the photography, which I’m more than happy to do. The wedding is in Cambelltown with a photoshoot in a park near by. After the reception we’re heading into the city to get some photos around the opera house and harbor bridge, should be some classic shots.
I will be aiming to get a slideshow up of the wedding that I shoot today, later tonight, probably do the editing on my laptop on the plane and then upload it to the blog by morning. Then I’ll have another slideshow up sometime in the early hours of Monday morning. A very busy weekend!
I’ve been looking around at other photographers work and prices and decided that there are some truely overpriced photographers out there! I’m not sure how Gary Fong does it, but he manages to charge US$120,000 per wedding.. I don’t get that per year, let alone per wedding! What’s really strange is that people book him at that price! http://www.storybookweddings.com/pricing3589/coverage.html
Anyway, I’ve included a few shots from my recent trip to PNG, please let me know if you are interested in prints of any of them, I’ll get them done through RedBubble, so you can get them as cards, matted prints, mounted prints (look awesome) and Framed prints.
