Hey All,

I’ve got a Canon iPF6350 24″ photo printer for sale, it’s a brilliant photo printer that can print on rolls of 24″ wide paper by up to 30 meters long, prints on canvas, card and an assortment of photo papers. The 12 ink system makes sure that your colours are spot on perfect.

I’ve been using this printer for just under a year to print my work. I can show prints that I’ve produced with it. The quality out of this printer is incredible, I’ve also got a few rolls of photo paper to get you started and the inks for it. It will need 1 new ink to get you started, but they can be purchased locally.

Purchased from PRA Imaging April last year, they still have listed for $7,350:
http://www.praimaging.com.au/view-CanonLarge+Format+imagePROGRAF+iPF6350/Printer/Large+Format+Printers/pra1683

I can deliver and setup the printer for you, includes all manuals and software. Works great with Photoshop CS5.5, I’ve been printing from my Canon 5D mark 2.

I’ve got it listed for $5,500 but I’m open to reasonable offers.

Feel free to email me with any questions you have about it.

Also a fellow photographer Leigh Diprose is selling some of his Canon photography gear: http://leighdiprosephotography.wordpress.com/2012/05/11/gear-for-sale-2/

Hey All,

This year I did something I’ve never done and never even considered doing before.. I entered my photos into a competition, a real, proper judged competition. The panel of judges included some photographers who I highly respect, so it was a great honour to get the scores back to find out that I had received a bronze award for each image that I entered! I wasn’t expecting anything at all, let alone all 4 entries getting awards!

Here are the images I entered:

I’ll have links to them in the gallery in the next two days.

I’ve been in a little bit of a creative slump the last week.. just really haven’t been all that inspired to head out and take photos, maybe it’s the weather, perfect clear blue skies really don’t do all that much for me.. The blue skies can make an image far less interesting than if you had a nice brush stroke of clouds across it. Clouds at texture and balance to an image in my opinion..

So this afternoon there were some pretty awesome clouds around, I decided I’d head out down to a local favourite beach of mine, Bennion Beach.. it sits between Trigg Beach and Mettam’s Pool.. both great spots for taking photos as well. Well the band of clouds threatened to close in the sunset and hide all the beautiful colour that can happen at sunset.. sure enough the sunset with out all that much fuss.. I waited awhile longer and was rewarded for my patience, all of a sudden a window of colour opened up for a few minutes, which saw me get to work quick smart!

I’m pretty happy with the results, definitely two of my stronger images of recent times. One of them got over 200 +1s on Google+ and was shared and reshared like crazy.. always nice to get a little bit of attention on your artwork!

Available as a print here

Available as a print here

Would love to hear your thoughts on the two images.. or what it is you do to help get yourself out of a creative slump!

Regards

This morning I had the pleasure of holding a virtual photo walk with several people from around the world. The hour long photo walk was broadcast around the world via a Google+ hangout, the people participating in it are disabled or house/hospital bound in some manner.

The light this morning was perfect, couldn’t have asked for better weather and clouds, I managed to capture some pretty decent images from the morning and then worked on creating a more lasting experience for them to explore any time they want.

For the past few weeks I’ve been working on a personal project, I call them interactive images, they are 360×180 degree panoramic images. On a computer you can drag your mouse around and experience an area, it is a semi-immersive environment.. on an iPad or iPhone it is even better.. the images you see on the iPad move as you move the iPad, giving you an even better experience.

Here is a preview of the one at Fremantle, click the link underneath it to experience it!

On Saturday night I had to head down to Manjimup for a shoot for a client. The shoot went pretty late and I was staying about an hour away in Mullalyup, at Willows Rest. Willows Rest is a Bed and Breakfast that has fully self-contained rooms, spa baths in the ensuites and about 16 acres of beautiful farm land you can wander around on. Bec’s Grandparents own it, it’s a lovely spot! Highly recommend staying there, I’m looking at organising a “photographers retreat” there for a small group who want to be challenged creatively and to explore Mullalyup, Balingup and the surrounds.

On my way back from Manjimup, I stopped and had a look a the night sky.. it was absolutely breath taking, the moon set at around 12:30am and the stars just came alive! There is very little light pollution in that area as you are pretty far from any major towns. Looking at the sky, I just had to get a few photos of it.. these are what I came away with!

I’ve decided to make the second image available as a free download as a wallpaper.

It seems every time I head out with fellow photographer Jamie Paterson, we both end up getting incredible images! We’ve decided we need to head out taking photos together more often. After being stuck in the house for a day from a mild case of food poisoning, I was itching to get out of the house and photograph something! Jamie mentioned he was heading out so we stayed fairly local and photographed the sun setting over Port Beach in Fremantle. I’m pretty stoked with this 12 image stitched panoramic I captured! I love the curve of the clouds in the image :)

I’ll have a few more images to post in the new few days, as I get time to process them and post them.

Hey All,

For the last few weeks I’ve been working on a concept with fellow photographer, John Butterill, utilising Google plus’ hangout feature. I’ve found hangouts on Google plus to be quite productive and I’ve met and connected with some exceptional photographers from around the world using it.. but we wanted to take that one step further.. and the concept of having Virtual Photo Walks for the disabled was born.

One of the main participants is C. Corey Fisk, the last time she walked was 1992, she has MS, an incurable disease that affects the central nervous system. She has been bed ridden for more than 4 years now, only leaving the house every few weeks to visit the hospital.. in an ambulance. Then there is M Monica, she is fully disabled. She lives with systemic lupus, fibromyalgia, neurocardiogenic syncopy, partial blindness, and Raynauld’s disease. She has to use a wheelchair so that she doesn’t pass out when walking because of the syncopy. This does not interfere with her enjoyment of life. There are many other participants and it is growing rapidly, we’re currently looking for some Australian participants as well!

I wanted to get involved as soon as I heard about the concept for many reasons.. number one I just love helping people and sharing my photography, but I also was in hospital for an extended amount of time and was facing the possibility of life confined to a wheelchair! In 2002 I broke my back in 2 places, L1 and T12, I was stuck in hospital watching the ceiling, re-runs of Water Rats (an Australian water police drama that is very.. average) and other soapies during the day. All up I was in hospital and then rehab/physio for 9 months.. it took me a long time to learn how to walk again and even longer to walk confidently without losing balance and falling over. For the first couple of days of my stay in hosptial, I was told that I would never walk again. I’ve now mostly recovered aside from some nerve damage and some balance issues at times.

So this morning I headed down to Bennion Beach at 5:30am, getting there well before the sky started to lighten up. I plugged in my headset and joined the hangout that John setup with Corey and Monica already in there, along with a few other participants. I gave them a guided tour and we watched the moon set over the ocean while they directed me on where to take photos. It was quite an emotional experience not only for Corey and Monica, but also for myself, as I wandered around listening to them talk about how they miss the sound of waves crashing and that they had never thought they would ever get a chance to visit a beach in Australia.

Here are some of the images from this morning’s walk.

Print avilable here

Print available here

Here is the video.. it doesn’t quite capture the actual experience, but it gives an idea of what went on:

Here is what Summer Plum wrote after the hangout:
“This afternoon, thanks to +Paul Pichugin & +Virtual Photo Walks™, I got to watch the sunrise in Perth as the moon set and hear the waves of the Indian Ocean lap against the rocks from my bed despite an awful migraine that is just not leaving me alone. (Hello day 35.) Folks, we live in the future! This time I just cried on the hangout, instead of after. because, yeah, well. It was amazing. If any of my fellow sickies want to come along in the future, raise a hand, and I’ll make sure you get advanced notice for future walks. This was just wonderful. I am so deeply grateful.”

This is why I do what I do.. to help others, I have been so fortunate in my life, this is just me giving back :)

Regards
