News and a Cambodia Update
Hey All,
As most of you would know, I have been planning a trip to Cambodia in September. I’m going to be working for 2 weeks in an orphanage that is run by Awareness Cambodia, as well as a clinic / hospital. I’m really looking forward to the trip. I’ve just finished all my immunisation and shots, all I’ve got left to do now is my Malaria medication, which starts 2 weeks before I leave and finishes 2 weeks after I get back.
The travel doctor I went to was really good, didn’t push anything that I didn’t want to take, I did my research and ended up getting vaccinated for Hepatitis, Typhoid Fever and Malaria. I’m still going to have to take some precautions, like not drinking the local water and making sure I wear sleeves at night and bushman spray the entire time, but I should be fine.
I want to say a huge thank you to those who have helped fund this trip, I really appreciate it! I’m planning an exhibition when I get back, as well as a showing of the documentary that I’m producing while over there. I’ll have more details when I get back.
Regards
Paul Pichugin

Sounds great Paul, so everything is all go for the trip, awesome.
Don’t wear bushman spray all the time mate, that stuff will kill you faster than the mossies but I’m sure you know that already. I would just wear long sleeves at sunrise and sunset and you’ll be fine. One cannot worry about all this stuff all the time, I personally never take Malaria medications, too many side effects and I would have to take it constantly anyway.
Have a great trip!
I didn’t know that about Bushman.. I wore it most of the time while I was in Papua New Guinea in 2008. I’m taking Lariam as a pre-caution against Malaria for this trip because I have a wedding photograph the weekend I get back! I generally don’t worry too much about this sort of stuff, didn’t get any shots for PNG or Thailand :)
thanks for the tips though
