Winter Mooring
Hey Al,
Not long ago I took part in one of the Creative Live courses, this one was by an artist who’s work I’ve admired for quite awhile now, Doug Landreth. He combines elements of photography with texturing and compositing in post-processing to come up with a true art piece. The course took you through some of the processes he uses, it’s a style that has interested me for quite awhile. A great example of a local artist that uses these techniques is Tony Hewitt, a truely inspiring artist who I was fortunate enough to meet on Australia Day on the True North!
This piece is the result of experimenting with the techniques involved, I set out to create the images from scratch, so I took the photos earlier this week on a super still and foggy morning here in Perth. I took 16 images to stitch together, shooting a bit more than I actually required to make this image. The images were stitched together in Photoshop CS 5.1.
I would love to get some feedback on this image!
Regards
Paul Pichugin
